1. Who we are

GSH Clinical Hub (“the App”) is provided by WIZ MED (PTY) LTD. The App supports medical interns and registrars at Groote Schuur Hospital with call rosters, rotation guides, clinical protocols and related resources.

This privacy policy explains how we collect, use and protect your information when you use the App (including the iOS app and the web version).

2. Information we collect

We may collect and process the following:

  • Account/sign-in data – If you sign in (e.g. to edit rosters), we may store credentials or identifiers necessary to authenticate you.
  • Roster and usage data – Data you add or change in the call roster (names, departments, contact details) and general usage of the App (e.g. which screens you open) where technically required to provide the service.
  • Device and app usage – Device type, operating system, and anonymised analytics (e.g. page views) to improve the App and fix issues.

We do not sell your personal information. We only use it to operate and improve the App and to comply with the law.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the App (rosters, content, sign-in).
  • Improve performance, security and user experience.
  • Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.
4. Storage and third parties

Data may be stored on our servers and on your device. We use third-party services that may process data on our behalf:

  • Hosting and databases – To run the App and store roster and account data (e.g. Supabase, Vercel or similar providers).
  • Analytics – To understand how the App is used (e.g. Vercel Analytics or similar). Where used, we favour anonymised or aggregated data.
  • Apple – If you use the iOS app, Apple’s terms and privacy policy also apply to the app distribution and device (e.g. App Store, iCloud).

We choose providers that implement appropriate security and, where relevant, comply with data protection standards. We do not allow them to use your data for their own marketing or to sell it.

5. Your rights (including South Africa)

Depending on where you are, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your personal information, or to object to certain processing.

In South Africa, the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) may apply. If you wish to exercise your rights or have a complaint, please contact us using the details below. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator in South Africa.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data (e.g. encryption in transit, access controls, secure hosting). No system is completely secure; we will notify you and regulators where we are legally required to do so if a breach affects your personal information.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy. For significant changes, we may notify you in the App or by email where we have it.
